Our Pastors

Bishop Mitchel and Pastor Dana Blue

Bishop Mitchel Blue is a country boy at heart with tremendous vision and capacity to reach the lost, build people, and serve the body of Christ. He is passionate about building people and seeing leaders discover their hidden potential. He honors the legacy of his school, North Carolina A&T State University, where he earned his B.S in Electronic Engineering Technology. In 2007, he earned his M.B.A, and is now working on his M.DIV. Uncommon Church is the expression of Gods vision revealed to him to compel people to experience the extraordinary power of God regardless of where they came from. Pastor Blue's style of ministry challenges people to move forward in a way that is practical and life-changing. As a bi-vocational Pastor, he finds joy in his career in technology and his free-time as a so-called "amateur golfer". Lastly, he finds great pleasure in being the "king of the castle" in a home surrounded by his daughters and loving wife.

Pastor Dana Blue is a down-to-earth, real deal kind of girl, that loves to push people further and deeper into the presence of God. She shares the heartbeat of ministry with her husband as they serve as the founding team of Uncommon Church. Her greatest desire is to see people understand their full identity in Christ and to experience total healing and authentic relationship with Christ. She obtained her master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University and also holds degrees in Sociology and Christian Ministry. As a loving mother and mentor, she embraces encouraging others to be all God has called them to be. OneSound Prayer Ministry and The Company Gathering are both ministries founded by Pastor Dana for the purpose of developing prayer and prophetic ministry within the local church.

About Us

How We Worship?

We believe in worship that captivates the heart of God. Worship may take on different forms but we like to enjoy the presence of the Lord. This is our norm, so we relate to God in our humanity like others may relate to their favorite team to a touchdown. Bottom line, we believe God is worthy of celebration. We believe with God in our equation, worship is the order of the day.

What We Value...

Authenticity, Generosity, Relationship, Community, and Family. We see ourselves as a company of believers ready to do our part in establishing God's kingdom here on earth. That's a big task, but teamwork helps us go further quicker. Replication and Activation help us to accomplish Uncommon things in the earth!

How we Grow?

Jesus was a People-builder and people are God's greatest commodity. So, we build people first. Our model hinges upon being ministers of reconciliation and upon everyone using their God-given gifts. When we grow inward, we can reach outward to those who have yet to experience the God we serve.

Why we need you?

Well, we're building something. We believe "that something" is necessary for people who look to be agents of change in their world. We don't have all the answers, but maybe you have some answers in your bag. The real story is we need people like you to help further the kingdom.Without people like you, it's going to take a bit longer to tow the load. Honestly, you're probably the missing piece! Join us as we build what we believe God has shown us!

Your Place

There's much to see here. So, take your time, look around, and learn more about us. We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line.

We have a place for you. There's a lot of work to do in the kingdom of God and we are just getting started in finding and creating ways to fulfill the vision God has given us. As we grow, we need people who are willing to plow the ground for future ministries and service.

Your Company

1 Samuel 10 shares the story of King Saul's men and Saul encountering the company of the prophets and experiencing life change. When you come into the presence of those who are anointed to change your life, your life changes! Come find your company, your tribe, the folks who can effect change in your life as you navigate your journey with Christ!

Your Calling

Maybe you know exactly what you are called to do or maybe you are just trying to figure it out. However, all of us have something to offer to the Body of Christ when we discover, develop, and dispense it! Finding your calling is just one part, but working your calling is where all the fun begins!

What To Expect?

Wear clothes that you feel comfortable in and while allowing you to engage fully in worship in your own way. If you feel like wearing your Sunday's Best... that works for us If you feel like Khaki's and a T-Shirt fits you best, go with that. Our goal is to worship God fully and share the word thoroughly. However, don't worry it will not take us all day to get this accomplished! Lastly, hang around if you can after service. Our Pastors and church family would love to see just who God sent our

What We BElieve

The Bible

We believe the Bible to be God-breathed, without error and the absolute truth exhibiting the mind, heart, spirit, and revelation of God. We believe in the Bible's power and authority to transform the lives of people. It is the guidebook we follow in all matters of faith and practice.

God

We believe there is one true God, who is holy and divine in nature, existing as three persons equally; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus

We believe in the 2nd person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ who was both fully human and both fully divine. We believe in his death, burial and resurrection and his absolute obedience to his father, God. Upon his ascension, he gave ministry gifts unto men according to Ephesians 4:16; apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, who are called to continue the work of ministry by equipping believers.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is the giver of all truth and is present as an active agent of change in the lives of believers. He dwells within upon salvation and assists believers in comfort, counsel, conviction, and empowerment. He grants gifts to the believers which further helps one to demonstrate his power and character in the earth.

Salvation

We believe in the sacrifice that was made by God in sending his Son, Jesus Christ to be the pardon for our sins. Because of this sacrifice and the blood of Jesus shed for our sins, we are now free from the law of sin and death. In confessing our sins, we receive forgiveness from sins and all unrighteousness. This free gift is given to all who will receive it through faith and repentance of sins.

Baptism

Cleansing from sin occurs through repentance of sin, faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ, and being baptized in water. We believe that baptism is the outward expression of inward change resulting in a commitment to a relationship with Jesus Christ. Discipleship is an integral part of understanding the life transformation that baptism represents.

Communion

Communion is our way of remembering Jesus Christ, and his sacrifice made for our sins. We regularly observe communion monthly and on special occasions. As a family of believers, we are dedicated to upholding the inaugural practice of the disciples in obedience to Christ's request to "Do this in Remembrance of Me".
